Easter Art

March 27th, 2015

To celebrate Easter, we designed our own cracked eggs complete with chicks!

We also painted the Hill of Calvary.



Design a boat

March 25th, 2015

Today for Science we had to design a boat that could carry passengers!

Only 2 children managed to get their boat to float and carry some passengers!

The most passengers we got on board one boat was 11 before it sank!!


Clothes Collection

March 20th, 2015

Our next clothes collection is April 20th.

Please feel free to drop in any clothes, blankets, curtains etc prior to the date.

Today’s Eclipse

Unfortunately, we missed out on today’s eclipse due to heavy fog in Fanore!!

Next time is 2026 so hopefully we will have a clear view then!!!

Science Fair~Auburn Lodge

Well done to all our children who participated in last night’s Science Fair in the Auburn Lodge in Ennis.

It was a great success with over 400 children participating!

The school was awarded a framed certificate of participation by John Conlon and each child received their own individual certificate.

Our experiments were as follows:

  1. Fingerprinting
  2. Why wear a seatbelt
  3. A volcano
  4. Which paper absorbs the best?
  5. Air power
  6. A bed of nails
  7. Reaction time
  8. An electrical quiz
  9. A rocket
  10. Cleaning dirty water.

Presentation Time:

Our pupils from 6th class went up to receive their framed certificate with Miss Scales.

A Pleasant Surprise

On our arrival back to school today we had a pleasant surprise waiting for us in our pond! It was full of frogspawn!! We shall watch closely over the next few weeks to see what happens!!


Explorers Education Programme Visit #2

February 18th, 2015

Today, we  had our second visit from Noirin from Galway Atlantaquaria.

Noirin visited both classrooms discussing marine life etc.

Noirin was also shown the children’s work since her last visit.

Children in the junior room created Portholes.

Children in the senior room created projects based on marine animals.

The highlight of Noirin’s visit was dissecting a squid!!

The children in the senior room worked in pairs to create these wonderful projects!
