For Europe Code week, the children participated in the above workshop.
They experienced the world of coding without a computer in what was a fun, practical hands-on STEAM workshop.
This workshop utilised cross-curricular learning to bring coding to life beyond the computer. Delivered remotely via Zoom, students took part in basic art, maths and storytelling exercises in order to enable them to grasp the fundamentals of what coding is.
Today the children in the senior room participated in an online workshop.
The University of Wonder & Imagination Workshop was a fun, interactive group experience that brought the magic of theatre directly into the classroom, via the wonders of digital technology.
It was fun, it was interactive and was unmissable!
To finalise Space Week this year, all students watched a live interview with astronaut Dan Tani.
This was a very interesting interview in which we got to hear, first hand the experiences of a man who has been to Space not once but twice!
Children from 1st class upwards participated in the above workshop.
In this hands-on pre-recorded workshop, Lindsay Deely of Toodlelou Creativity Lab took a look at the role of the humble bumblebee in biodiversity. Preserving biodiversity is a big task, but there are things that we can all do, right in our own backyards to make a difference.
Lindsay talked about the important things that bees do for us every day, how to become a citizen scientist and the simple things we can do to attract bees to our gardens. During the workshop she showed students how to make a home for solitary bees that was crafted using simple items found at home, in school, the recycling bin and in nature.
Keep an eye out for our bee hotels!!
For Maths Week, the children in the senior room took part in a Maths Trail down on the beach. This was a fun, interactive and educational trail! Everything and anything was counted, measured, tallied etc.
We are currently participating in Maths Week.

Children in the senior room busy at work figuring out the sizes of the planets!
Not an easy task!!
This activity helps students grasp the various sizes of planets in our Solar System using mostly fruit with some other items. The class discussion before the activity encourages students to take an educated guess as to which planet each item represents.
Today, as part of our participation in the Banner Challenge we walked to the beach.
Each bubble did their own daily activities.
